Two charismatic seniors from our enviable computer club "Elektronische Dings-Spielkreis" had themselves photographed in an inspiring photo session for an e-sports magazine, a modern form of sporting competition using computer games.

Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Müller, both in their eighties, were chosen for their remarkable and consistent performance in a racing game called "Need for Speed", where - contrary to popular expectations of speed and adrenaline - they always drive the smoothest laps.

This unusual behavior reminds us of the tried and tested saying “There is strength in calm.” In fact, the two of them seem to consciously forego the nimble hunt for high-heeled sports cars and instead do their laps calmly and leisurely.

In the photos, tastefully taken against the shimmering backdrop of their play equipment, they proudly embody the motto "Good things take time." They demonstrate that these computer games are not just about frantic button pressing and rapid speed, but that there is also room for level-headedness and calm.

Amidst the fast-paced noise and colorful lights, these two seniors teach us through their insistent “Gemach, Gemach!” a lesson that goes beyond the boundaries of the game: it's not the speed that matters, but rather the constant forward movement - an idea that we can transfer into our everyday lives.
